Going Ga Ga over the La La Land Trailer!

You can probably pencil this in for all sorts of Fisti Awards noms/wins (and I'm currently predicting this for all sorts of Oscar attention too) because this is the kind of film I live and breathe for.  It doesn't hurt that the trailer is THIS BEAUTIFUL.  The special effects, the glorious sets and lighting, the scope of it all, the glitzy musical numbers, Gosling's low octave vocals, Stone's longing stare, the moody-dreamy quality of it all...the tears streaming down my face as my body ACHES to have this movie in my life right now!!!

I'm ready for this film to make my soul laugh, smile and weep!

  1. At the start of the year, this was pretty much the only movie I was REALLY looking forward to for the whole year. This trailer TOTALLY stoked that fire. FUCKING GORGEOUS on every level. I can't wait until December.

    1. Yeah, I have had this at the top of my 'most anticipated' since, like, last year...but I wasn't expecting this...like...this may be the most beautiful 'teaser' I've ever seen.

    1. Also looks like Warren Beatty's Howard Hugh's movie is coming out too https://youtu.be/D1JrMOiG5hc and it looks... okay. Nothing can beat The Aviator IMO.

    3. And it's sad too cos I like Beatty's other stuff and him in general, and he hasn't done anything in SO LONG :( Also I realized, La La Land and Cafe Society look so similar XDDD

  6. This couldn't look more like something you'd give every single Fisti award to. Haha...so awesome.

I had heard nothing about this until the trailer buzz, but count me in. I adore Stone and Gosling is who I want to grow up to be when I'm...younger.

    1. You know me well, my friend!

Don't we all want to grow up to be Ryan Gosling? LOL, I actually DID want to grow up to be Ryan Gosling. When I was a kid I used to watch that show he did called Breaker High...I was like 12 or something and totally wanted to grow up to be his character.

  7. I'm definitely sold on that trailer. What I'm not sold on is Emma Stone...she doesn't do it for me, and isn't this her third movie with Gosling? Are there no other actresses that they could have given a shot? Meh.

    1. No!

      NOOOOO!

Emma Stone is Ah-MAZING, and this is such a glorious fit for her. I'm crossing my fingers she makes a dash for the Oscar.

  10. I watched the trailer on YouTube and it was immediately followed by the trailer for "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens". Probably similar films. ;)

  11. I'm less anxious about who's gonna win Best Picture at the Oscars and more anxious about if Fisti is gonna end up choosing La La Land as his best picture or if Dolan will win again. #tough battle

  12. I agree its very bootiful to look at - an ode to the old days. I saw some still too, they look like part of an exhibition I wish was on at a gallery. I'm looking forward to this very much too.

  13. Super excited about this! It's a complete departure from Whiplash, and I love how intimate the setting is. It had me hooked when they dance at the planetarium.

  14. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'm willing to put my unfettered bias against musicals aside for this one. It looks pretty fuckin' good!

  15. Haha, I was wondering if you'd do a post on this when the trailer dropped. ;) My body is ready! I could see this slaying at the CinSpecs...or just getting something like Screenplay and Song noms. Can't wait to check it out!
