Trailer & Poster Break: Dallas Buyers Club

So here we have it.  Here is the trailer for what many believe is Matthew McConaughey's Oscar ticket.  Yeah, he's getting the nomination, and from the looks of the trailer, Jared Leto is looking pretty safe too.  In fact, Leto looks wonderful here!  He looks better than McConaughey.  I still get this 'McConaughey playing McConaughey' feeling from him, but whatever...this character is too baity for him to miss.

Here's the poster, which is kind of amazing:

  1. Yeah, pencil both of them in on my list of predictions. McConaughey has grown so much as an actor these last few years. I think this will definitely earn him a nod.

    1. I don't know if I actually see growth as an actor, or merely an actor finally choosing better film roles. I still see him basically approaching each character as the same man doing different things...but at least his film roles are more diverse and admirable. He's trying. I don't know if I see him succeeding, but there is much to be said for a man who tries.

    2. I definitely see a difference, I think that's because I actually despised him as an actor for so long before he grew on me. He was always good at playing lawyers, and everything else sucked. Then it's like these last few years, he's been a completely different actor. He's definitely choosing better roles.

    3. Funny thing is that the best performance that I think he's given was in 'The Lincoln Lawyer', where he plays...a lawyer!

      :-P

  2. Yeah, I think McConaughey and Leto are in at this point, and Leto looks better, for sure.

  3. Damn McCon is going all method actor. Glad to see him turning his career around, seemed like he was going to be stuck in B-action films and banal Rom-com hell.

    1. I'm glad for him making these changes in his career. Still, I don't know if HE is making changes in his acting, but we'll see.
