You can't stop what's coming...

It may not be much, but it's something.  I'm still confident in this being the Oscar frontrunner, so any news is good news at this stage in the game.  Apparently, the trailer is hitting really soon.  I can't wait for this.  Early ink on the footage released CinemaCon is good.

Surprisingly, one of the films getting the most buzz right out of CinemaCon is 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty'.  In all honesty, I had no idea what this film was until I read that it was getting a slew of good ink.  This is a Ben Stiller film (directed and starred) and so I'm wondering just how legitimate these 'Oscar potential' comments are, but apparently the twitterverse has taken to proclaiming this film 'one to watch'.  It's being likened to 'Life of Pi', and while I'm not a fan of that film in particular, there is no denying that those visuals are unforgettable, so maybe this will be a surprise Visual Effects contender.  In reading the synopsis over at IMDB, I can't help but get a 'Stranger than Fiction' vibe from this, but maybe I'm wrong.

In some random movie news, the latest poster for Winding Refn's 'Only God Forgives' is out, and it looks amazing!

Why can't all poster designs be this clever?  I mean, this is some really exciting stuff, completely in tune with the atmospheric vibe of the trailer and yet it even draws some comparison to the advertisements for 'Drive' (the brightness, the color).  This poster just solidifies my absolute anticipation for this upcoming film.  I cannot wait for this!

  2. Bring on the trailer for The Counselor! Walter Mitty just doesn't sound Oscar-worthy to me, but I think Stranger Than Fiction was very close to a screenplay nod. And I want that poster!

    1. I'm with you on Walter Mitty, but the Twitter reactions were unanimous, which was odd to me.
